Connection of offshore wind power
Svenska kraftnät is working to facilitate the connection of offshore electricity production to the Swedish power grid. Preliminary studies and preparations for various implementation projects are currently underway.
Offshore wind power is expected to be an important piece of the puzzle in the transition to renewable energy production. Svenska kraftnät is preparing to be able to provide sustainable and practical conditions for the connection of offshore electricity production to the Swedish electrical system for interested parties.
Process for connecting offshore wind power - Open Door
To create more transparent conditions for stakeholders in offshore electricity production interested in connecting onshore at their own expense, Svenska kraftnät has initiated investigative work to communicate suitable onshore connection points and available transmission capacity at these prepared points.
Report
A new report, published on October 13, 2023, outlines preliminary proposals for a new working process and the capacity-related conditions for connecting electricity production along Sweden's coastal areas.
