Lindbacka-Östansjö

Svenska Kraftnät is planning to construct a 400 kV line between the existing Lindbacka station, two kilometres west of Örebro and a planned station at Östansjö, one kilometre west of Hallsberg. The line replaces an existing 220 kV line.

The proposed line is part of a larger context, as the national grid is strengthened from Svealand in the east and towards Västerås, to the Örebro area and further south. The strengthening is necessary due to power increases in the nuclear power plant, a new electricity link from Finland, and due to the expansion of renewable electricity production, primarily wind power.

The new line will be close to 30 km long. We estimate that it will be in operation at the end of 2015.
